Christmas Eve 2012

We didn't head over to Mingy and Dat's until 10am, so we had a relaxing morning at home...

Then the craziness began...

Weeks ago, Sam asked Charlie and Laura what they wanted for Christmas.  He made them an ornament with something on it for each person.  He brought it out the night before and wanted to wrap it for them.  It amazes me how he remembers everything...especially little details!

The kids love our family traditions...they were excited to open new pjs washed and ready to wear.  Of course they had to throw reindeer on the front lawn...

One of our favorite things is the candlelight service at church; however, with a baby (especially a very tired baby) we opted to have our own candlelight service at home this year...it was very sweet...

Cookies and milk for Santa...
The manger ready for Jesus...  I saw this idea and asked my Dad if he could make a little manger for us.  He did and it was just perfect.  When the kids do acts of service or kindness you let them add a piece of straw to the manger in hopes of having a very full bed for Jesus to lay His head on Christmas.
I wanted to find the perfect doll to represent Jesus.  I ran in to the Haggle Shop and found this little doll that looks like it's from the 40s or 50s.  It didn't have a price tag, so the owners wouldn't sell him without talking to a vendor whose booth he was in.  Long story short...they ended up giving him to us the next day and he fit perfectly in the manger!
